But it does seem like there's an endless stream of material online that focuses on the sole point of criticizing people for having different views. It's an easy and almost reflexive thing to do because that's the way the internet works and it is very easy to read hateful messages on the internet, even if you don't agree with them.I remember when I was growing up, most of the major news organizations tried to get their message across with articles and interviews about the evils of illegal drugs. This seemed logical at the time. And if you were a parent in the 1970s, you had no idea what drugs were.Then we learned about all of the new drugs out and how they were not as bad as we thought. The headlines changed and the drugs were called 'soft drugs.' Then, as we learned more, it wasn't as dangerous as we had thought. We still have the same problem with how people talk about different drugs today and how we write on the internet, but it's far more acceptable for drugs to be discussed.It may seem like I'm saying that 'freedom of speech' should be curtailed, but that's not what I'm saying. My issue is that there seems to be an endless stream of material out there, where there's a valid argument against anything.One thing I think it would be good to ask of an essay on freedom of speech is that you use good logic. It would be better to challenge the position you are taking than to just offer a counter argument to someone else's argument. To the extent that the writer doesn't do that, then it's just a slap in the face to the reader.Please consider all this. Make your decision, and thank you for reading my work.
